Rama Devi Lanka is a seasoned professional with a career spanning over 25 years in various domains such as Civil Engineering, Information Technology, and e-Governance. She has gained expertise in IT consulting, IT strategy, mentoring teams, and start-ups. Rama is currently serving as the Director of Emerging Technologies & Officer on Special Duty at the Information Technology and Communications Department (ITE&C) of the Government of Telangana. Rama has played a crucial role in the Digital India growth story by conceptualizing and designing several e-Governance projects that have brought about reforms and transformation in various domains such as Health, Visa-Immigration, Civil Aviation, Atomic Energy, Education, and Urban Local Bodies. She was involved in formulating the strategy for the implementation of the Meghraj policy of cloud for the Government of India. Rama has successfully positioned Telangana State as a pioneer in adopting emerging technologies such as Blockchain, AI, drones, Cloud, IoT, Cyber Security, and fostering the ecosystem in the State to make it a favorable destination for investments. Currently, Rama is responsible for formulating and implementing policy frameworks for the State that would create a conducive ecosystem for the growth of emerging technologies and assist the government in leveraging these technologies for better governance. She has been successful in transitioning turnkey IT projects within the regulatory framework of government procurement, designing implementation strategies and plans, and program management for successful implementation of e-Governance projects. Rama has held several leadership positions in her career, including General Manager at the National Institute for Smart Government, India, and Project Manager at the Centre for Good Governance. She has also worked with the Information Technology, Electronics & Communications Department, Government of Telangana, as Director of Emerging Technologies and Officer on Special Duty. Rama has an Executive Program in Business Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, and an M.Tech in Civil/Environmental Engineering from JNTU. Her tech stack includes Blockchain and AI.
